The State of my Mind
The world is ravaged by storms,
Destructive and damning.
In a single moment,
A crack of lightning sends a flock of ravens into flight.
Rabbits shudder in their straw nests
as a deep rumble rolls across the sky.
What a foreboding sight is the violent thunderstorms,
It moans wistfully against the trees as it rampages.
To make me wonder if the storm is in pain.
I am compelled to stop and stare at this wicked tornado,
Quickly forming a tower of chaos.
It is calamitous as most storms are.
All things that are gradual, do so with grace.
All things that are rapid, do so with inelegance.
Instead, I long for the soft patter of raindrops.
