I am looking forward to honing my professional writing skills as well as gaining grant-writing skills for any potential career where it might be the desired benefit. I am currently a psychology major with a sociology minor. A lot of my passions lie in community psychology and in the field of services and community services. I plan on doing a lot of my work in non-profit organizations and even potentially starting my own up in the chance that ever presents itself. Grant-writing is a super valuable skill that I most definitely will need and might even give me an advantage in the competitive field of job searching. But more importantly, I want it to aid my overall professional writing. I know how to academically write and even creatively write. Yet, I am not quite sure how to professionally write something. With clear and concise words. No company or organization wants to read a ten-page paper about how the study are supporting why they should financially back this organization; they want to read a short and clear summary.
